Found some pictures of my cats back home. I've decided to share them with everyone. So here they are. My cat, Felix..and my sister's leg. His best enemy, Fred..enter intruder stage right. And the bitches. Rotten on the left, Chubbs on the right..flirting with cat treats. They're good people when you get to know them. And once you figure out how to tell Chubbs apart from Rotten..which only takes most people a few years.

Wow, it's hot.
We've been PT'ing in the mornings lately, and it's hot enough as it is then. In the afternoon, I swear it hits 90. Easy. I'm sorta from where it's cold, like "The Day After Tomorrow" would be a snowball fight. I can't even sleep because of how hot it is.
So anyway. We've started on Fiber Optics, and holy SHIT is it boring. Apparently that's where all the money is. Here's an examping of why:
The Library of Congress holds every book ever published. Ever. Now, if you were scan them all into a bunch of text files as if to upload them to a source, this is how long it would take.
56k Dial-Up: 82 Years 200k Cable: 4 Years Fiber Optic Modem (2 Trill): 48 Seconds
Holy moly. That's a lot of time to wait. I mean I could do a lot in 48 seconds. It's still too long. Right.
Good luck finding a Fiber Optic sourced modem thing though. I heard they sold the last one on Ebay a week ago.
Well, school isn't getting any easier, it's getting hotter by the day. Oh and pass the cheese please.
Bai.

Dear Diary,
Hi.
Love, Chris
Anyway, so I finally got internet in my room, that is to say I got a computer first, then internet. It's not too bad. I can browse whatever I want while I'm not in class or I'm in lunch. Say hi to all my girlfriends who don't know about each other. Life is g-r-a-n-d good.
...Tough crowd.
So I finally got around to posting in the book, or online thing, or something. I arrived in 29 Palms, CA January 25 and picked up for class out of receiving February 2. I'm in the midst of a Basic Electronics Course and know more about schematic components, Mr. Ohm, and electricity than I ever have. Sounds exciting, you'd think so. Class is dry, class is dull, but I have good motivation to stay awake, learn, study, etc. And class isn't always that bad. It's actually funny as hell sometimes. But we're isolated so we could laugh at melting ice cream. Get it? Melting Ice Cream? Ahh..you suck. Overall, school is good. We're in class M-F 07-1630 and we PT M-W-F's at 1500. Stuff is good. I miss family, I miss friends, but not everyone can stay at home and live with Mom and Dad. Shit gets hard. Challenging. Exciting. I'm growing to like it here, but part of me is still at home, helping Mom and Dad move into a new house, painting and cleaning. Part of me is with my friends, hanging out and telling dumb jokes that make perfect sense. Part of me is with her, helping her keep her spirits up and holding her in time of need. You guys can't get rid of me.
So that's basically what's going on. I'm doing pretty good, I'm not dead. I haven't gone to war. So stop worrying.
Night all.

OK! So I'm back for 3 weeks. Good to go and all that. So now I'll start my story.
Week 1: First day. We got into San Diego and it was pitch black out. It's like that for a reason, but it sucked anyway. We headed over to the USO of the airport. As soon as we got there, we saw our first Drill Instructor. He was yelling, screaming, veins coming out of his neck. Good stuff. Scary as hell, but good stuff. So! He had us all line up and started calling out our names. We'd reply "Here, sir!" then run out and line up again where we handled our initial pay cards. A different Drill Instructor had us fill out these little cards, and when he collected them, we lined up to get on the bus. We had to wait on the drivers, so we were outside a while. They showed up eventually. When they got there, we were pretty much thrown onto the bus. We got on the bus as fast as humanly possible, for 90 confused recruits, at least. Once on the bus, they told us to hunch over and stick our heads between our legs. So we did, for the duration of the 10 minute drive. Once there, ANOTHER Drill Instructor (there's a few throughout the story) came on the bus and told us to get off the bus and onto "The Yellow Footprints", and started counting us down from 20. We ran off the bus and onto these yellow footprints spaced apart in a formation. They taught us the position of attention, and how to shut up when a Drill Instructor is talking. We learned quick. MYTH #1: They do not scream at you for coughing or sneezing. They do however tell you when you're done coughing and they teach you not to move when you sneeze. Anyway, after we learned how to stand correctly, they took us into the building and cut our hair off, then gave us this little card, called a Smart Card. They put a bunch of our information on there, then later we found out it had $250 on it. So, after we got our cards, they lined us up to get our semi-uniforms. Instead of full cammies, we got running shoes, cammie trousers, a green under shirt, and the cover (hat). After a while on the depot, you know how long a recruit has been there just by looking at him. If they aren't wearing a blouse but they have a reflector strap on all day, they're new. They're in processing, or recieving. They get made fun of by recruits who haven't attained the discipline they should have. That's a bad recruit. There's plenty of them, unfortunately. So in processing, you just learn initial drill skills, like the moving part. You get your shots, teeth looked at, etc. Come that Friday is the intro to physical training. Initial Strength Test. How many pull-ups and sit-ups you can do and how fast you can run 1.5 miles. Now for me, I did the IST the Friday after I got there, but my Senior Drill Instructors caught on to these bubbles forming on the back of my neck. Pretty picture I'm sure. They had kept us out in the sun so long with such weak sun block that my white ass got sun burned so bad that my skin boiled like water. 2nd Degree burns on my neck and arms. Because of that, I didn't move on in training when the rest of my company did after the IST. But more on that come Chapter 2, which will be later. So until then, toodles.

Well, I have my general orders memorized. Picking them out of a hat is pretty hard, but in time I'll get it.
Tonight we're going to the Outback Steakhouse. They have great burgers, and I could use one as my last meal. Then tomorrow, I spend the day with my family, listen to my mom cry some more, oh and forget sleeping Saturday night. Fat chance there. Sunday afternoon, I'm out of here. Gone. I'll be on a plane to Anchorage. Monday afternoon I'll be on a bus to Camp Pendleton in San Diego. I soooooo can't wait. So, until November....toodles.

Been a while...again
With all the crap to do and all the people my mom and dad want me to meet, it's hard to keep up with my journal. But I've started a nutshell version of what has happened so far. Here goes:
-I made my room more...roomy -I've been to Seattle more times in the past 2 weeks than I have my entire life, prior to the past 2 weeks -Oregon is hot this time of year. And OMSI sucks. -I, for some reason, need glasses -My aunt and my mom's best friend have both spent time living with us so I share my room with my sister
Yeah that's about all I have. It's not very exciting, at all. And the whole glasses thing just isn't for me. Maybe I'll put up a picture or two so you, or I, depending on who reads this, can see just how special ed they make me look. But that's all for now.

Well hi again. I made it in. Yaaaaay.
Finally time to come on here and update because I care.
First of all, I HATE boats. Hate them. Little ones, big ones, red ones, blue ones. I will not ride it Sam I am, I will not..WILL NOT...ride another fucking boat ever again. Only because mommy gave me motion sickness for my first birthday. She wouldn't take it back either. God bless her.
It was a three day boat ride. We loaded the truck onto the boat and we went on our way. Much to the dismay of my aunt, who cried everytime we saw her starting about a week before we left. Anyway, the boat ride was boring, we got on, I wanted to die, we got off.
Been here a week now. All we've done is go out, look around, eat because little brother is hungry again. We've found dozens of restaurants that are actually worth eating at. Like the Genghis Khan, which is an all you can eat chinese noodle, beef, chicken, veggies, pineapple, etc...where you collect all your cold stuff in a bowl, put a sauce on it if you want, and they fry it for you on this big metal table. I'm not big on asian foods, but since it's just noodles, chicken, beef, shrooms, and pineapple, it isn't really asian, is it?
Anyway, we moved into my dad's one-person apartment. Now if you're a guy, living by yourself, I'm sure you really wouldn't want a bunch of people coming in and messing with your shit. So now he has to tolerate mommy again, and I know he just loves it. And so we move into a 'house', which is a two-family building, today (monday) and it looks like something right out of "The Shining". The room I'm supposed to sleep in is a decent sized room, with freaky cabinets and shelves on one side, and a scary-as-shit "The Shining" closet. Or maybe it was Nightmare on Elm...I don't know. It's scary. But then again, I fit on the kitchen counter corner under the shelves next to the severed head, so maybe I'll just sleep there.
It's a nice place and I'll only be here a month. Darn it. Well, more later. Bye now.
